Texas Barbecue Sauce

Texas Barbecue Sauce
Recipe Type: BBQ Sauce
  • 5 ounces Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ¾ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
  3. Cool and pour into a tightly covered container.
  4. This sauce will keep, refrigerated, for several weeks.

  1. With all that vinegar and lemon juice, it seems like it has quite a lot of pucker!

    Curious what about this makes it a “Texas” bbq sauce. Is it from a certain region of Texas?

  2. That does seem to have a lot of ingredients that would make one wince, but I trust the recipe because I have tried many by Carey Starzinger and they have all been good. I have to try this one on some beef ribs.
