Grilled Lompoc Style Tri-Tip
  • 4 lbs beef tri-tip roast
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  1. Combine oil, Worcestershire, soy, lemon juice, garlic and mustard. Marinate meat in sauce in refrigerator for hours, turning several times.
  2. Remove from refrigerator 2 hours before grilling.
  3. Grill over medium heat about 15 to 20 minutes on each side, brushing frequently with marinade.
I came across a file with thousands of BBQ recipes. They look at least 10 years old and most don't have any type of credit of where they came from. If you recognize a recipe please let me know so I can give proper credit.

  1. I like the marinade although when I do tri-tip I really like to marinade it in chimichurri (with some reserved for dipping later). I did a post about “Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip and Chimichurri” a few months back.
