2010 MOINK Ball Challenge

MOINK Balls aren’t just an appetizer anymore!

And to prove it The BBQ Grail is hosting a contest for the best recipe that uses MOINK Balls as the main ingredient.  Here’s how it is going to work:

RULES:

  1. MOINK Balls must be made according to acceptable International MOINK Ball Appreciation Society guidelines.  (See below for details on exactly what a MOINK Ball is and how it’s made.
  2. MOINK Balls must be made and then included as the main ingredient in another dish.  This mean you’re going to have to cook the MOINK Balls prior to including them as an ingredient.
  3. Although the MOINK Balls MUST be cooked outdoors on a traditional grill or smoker the final dish does not have to be cooked outdoors.
  4. Entries maybe submitted anytime between July 19th and September 1st, 2010.  Entries must be received by September 1st, 2010
  5. Contest judging will be conducted by readers of The BBQ Grail.  Each entry will be posted on The BBQ Grail, on September 2nd, and voting will be conducted by using the “comment” section on each post.  The entry with the most positive comments from unique visitors will be declared the winner on  September 22th, 2010.  Campaigning is acceptable and encouraged.
  6. One Grand Prize will be awarded.  The Grand Prize will include, but is not limited to: A custom made engraved plaque with the winners name on it, an autographed copy of “BBQ Makes Everything Better,” and a prize package from Kingsford/KCMasterpiece.
  7. Submissions must include the following:
    1. At least two photographs (no cell phone camera pictures) that document the making of the MOINK Balls.
    2. At least three other pictures that document the making of your final dish.
    3. At least one good quality picture of your dish “plated.”
    4. All photos should be submitted with no less than 150 dpi.  Your photos may be cropped to fit The BBQ Grail Blog format.
    5. The entire recipe for your dish.
    6. A short 75 word or less description of your dish and inspiration.
    7. Your complete name, address, phone number. (Only your name will be published)
    8. Submissions should be emailed to:  moink@thebbqgrail.com
    9. Photos MUST be sent as an attachment
  8. Contest submissions remain the property of the submitter.  However, by submitting your entry you agree to not publish your entry on any media outlet (including your own blog) until after the October 1st, 2010. However, entries may not appear on any other internet or media outlet prior to September 3, 2010.  Once contest entries have been posted on The BBQ Grail they may be posted on your blog provided they have a link to the official entry on The BBQ Grail.
  9. Also, by submitting your entry you agree to allow The BBQ Grail to publish your photos, recipe, description and name on The BBQ Grail Blog and recipe site.
  10. Please use the comment section below to ask any questions you might have.
  11. These rules are subject to change as people ask questions because I always leave something out.

    You know I’m in Larry. I have some great ideas but i’ll struggle to trump the last MONSTER creation. Maybe I can just make it twice as big with twice as many fillings on the 26″ OTG?
